This patina reacts with the tin in solder to change it to a light copper colour.
After soldering your copper foiled piece, wash thoroughly with soapy water to remove any grease or flux residue, dry well and then paint on the patina with a small brush (not included). Gently dab off any excess with paper towel or sponge and allow to dry, then polish to a shine with a soft cloth. You may find you need to repeat the process a couple of times to get a brighter copper shine.
